HELLZONE TRIVIA
---------------
HELLZONE © is ultimately copyrighted by
INTERSCAN but has been released shareware and
may be freely distributed as long as all the
files on this disk including this readme file
are distributed as a whole intact and not
altered.
HELLZONE © is a demontration game that has
been developed by four poor Australian
university students in between their
extremely boring studies (Computer Science is
not what what it used to be - there are more
babes in Humanties or Arts degrees). Anyway,
this collective group of dudes decided to
call themselves INTERSCAN. We would would
very much like to continue our foray into the
world of Amiga game programming with the
development of future exciting titles.
However there are obstacles that will hinder
us from further development efforts, e.g.
Pepsi (TM) & Coke (TM) costs, movie rental
costs to supplement creativity and late night
programming efforts, CD's for aural
stimulation, equipment maintenance, software
costs (e.g. Dpaint, Devpac upgrades), food
(KFC) costs and other miscellaneous expenses
all pertinent to Australian Game development.
To make this possible, if you have enjoyed
playing HELLZONE © PLEASE send a donation of
say AU$12 or more :-) made payable to:
Cullhane Gibbs,
1 Coronado Street,
Browns Plains,
Brisbane, QLD, 4118,
Australia
(Preferably as an International Money order
or bank cheque payable to the above dude.)
Letters discussing comments/anything (except
bugs) are also welcome and appreciated.
Since we are aspiring to develop commercial
quality software we would like to hear from
interested publishers and distributors.
If you like a copy of the source code for
HELLZONE in its current form (i.e. rough &
easy), we WOULD be tempted by AUS$50 sent to
the above address.
NOTE TO ANY PD OR SHAREWARE DISK
VENDORS THAT WISH TO INCLUDE THIS
ON THEIR LIBRARY LIST, THIS IS
POSSIBLE IF YOU EXPLICITLY EXPRESS
TO US THAT IS YOUR WISH AND PAY THE
DONATION FEE.
HELLZONE TECHNICAL TRIVIA
-------------------------
(1) HELLZONE may crash on exiting -
Originally designed to run in a non-DOS
system. It needs alot of chip memory! Because
each level has been transfered into a single
DOS file to run from CLI, the game will only
load on 1 meg systems (unless you can release
the system beforehand). (Try disconnecting
your external drives!!!!!)
(2) Written In: 100% 68000 assembler
(3) Hints to budding games programmers:
* Stick to assembler, but plan everything
thoroughly !!!!! ( We wish we did! :-( )
(4) Definitely works with KickStart 2.04.
(5) Files compacted with Imploder v4 (by
Peter Struijk & Albert J. Brouwer) with range
8 to fit onto one disk.
INTERSCAN thank friends & family (too
numerous to mention & therefore type).
